Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film SW900 is one of five wrap lines we stock, and it is the largest catalog on our floor. Our color catalog carries 150 Avery entries — 144 of them SW900, plus six Conform Chrome SF100 films that belong to a separate Avery product line. For comparison, the same catalog holds 126 colors in 3M 2080, 105 in Inozetek and 59 in Evolve. If you arrived with a specific shade of satin or a color-shift film in mind, Avery is usually the first place we look.
What follows is the film's own data rather than a brochure: how SW900 is built, what Avery warrants once the car is parked in Florida sun, which colors behave differently from the rest, and the places where 3M 2080 is honestly the better buy. Every number here comes from Avery Dennison's own SW900 product data sheet (Revision 20, dated 03/10/26) and Instructional Bulletin 1.30, or from 3M's published bulletin and warranty card.
We install it the same way we install everything else: planned before a sheet is cut, trim off where the design calls for it, panel by panel in a climate-controlled bay in Davie. Color change wraps start at $3,000, and your exact price comes out of a free inspection with the real film held against your own paint in daylight.
SW900 is a cast vinyl film — poured and cured flat rather than squeezed through rollers — which is why it stretches into a bumper recess and stays there instead of trying to shrink back. Avery's data sheet describes it as a premium cast film for full color wrapping, built around a patented adhesive system called Easy Apply RS: the film slides on the paint before it grabs, air escapes through the liner-side structure instead of trapping into bubbles, and it stays removable for the life of the film.
Films with a face thickness of 4 mil and above may have reduced conformability — Avery says so in the same document. That matters, and we come back to it below.
Breadth is the real argument for Avery. Here is how the SW900 catalog breaks down on our floor, with codes you can hold in your hand at the shop:
One correction people rarely get told: Avery's chrome is not SW900. The six chrome entries in our catalog — Conform Chrome Silver SF100-843-S, Conform Chrome Black SF100-196-S and the rest — are Conform Chrome SF100, a different film with its own data sheet, its own behavior and its own price. We quote it separately.
146 of the 150 Avery colors we carry have a reference photo of the film on a real vehicle, so you can see the color on a body panel before it goes near yours.
Avery ties its warranty term to the film's published durability, and durability changes with two things: where the car lives, and which way the panel faces. On Avery's own United States zone map in Instructional Bulletin 1.30, Florida sits in Zone 1 — the least aggressive zone, the same as most of the country. Arizona, New Mexico and Hawaii are Zone 3; Florida is not.
Zone 1 durability for SW900, vertical panels first, roof and hood second:
Vertical means within 10 degrees of upright: doors, fenders, quarter panels. Your roof, hood and trunk lid are the horizontal number, and Avery calculates non-vertical panels using that horizontal figure. A gloss color that is warranted 10 years on the doors is warranted 2 years on the roof. Nobody enjoys hearing that, and you should hear it before you pay, not after.
Ten of the colors in our Avery catalog fall into the shortest 3-year band because they contain gold flake — among them Gloss Metallic Eclipse Black SW900-199-M, Gloss Metallic Radioactive Green SW900-762-M, Gloss Metallic Sand Sparkle SW900-255-M and Satin Wave Blue SW900-629-S. They are beautiful films. They are also the ones Avery stands behind for the shortest time.
Two more limits worth knowing: abrasion and loss of gloss are excluded from any Avery warranty as normal wear and tear, and the warranty is about the film cracking, lifting or failing — not about how the car looks to you at year seven. Our practical expectation for a full wrap in Florida sun with reasonable care is still 5 to 7 years across the whole vehicle.
We install both, we have no reason to push either, and they are genuinely different tools.

Short version: for a solid gloss, satin or matte color change on a whole car, SW900 gives you more choice and a longer published life. For metallics, color-flip films and roof-and-hood work, 3M 2080 carries the better warranty.
Not every SW900 behaves like the rest of the catalog, and these are the ones we flag at the consult:
Wash requirements are written into the data sheet, not left to interpretation. Avery calls for cleaning products that are free of abrasives, pH balanced between 5 and 9, and free of alcohol, acids, ammonia, chlorine, glycol ethers, harmful detergents, petroleum distillates and phosphates.
Then there is the part almost nobody mentions. Avery states that products containing petroleum distillates or solvents such as soaps, waxes or protective coatings void any warranty. 3M is equally direct on 2080: coatings and other aftermarket additions, ceramic coatings explicitly included, are excluded from the MCS warranty. A ceramic coating over a wrap makes washing dramatically easier and helps satin and matte hold up — and it is a trade against the film manufacturer's warranty. We tell you that before the film goes on, and you decide.
On removal, Avery defines clean removability as less than 20% adhesive residue using proper heat and chemical methods, for the length of the durability period. It does not warrant removal from automotive paint more than five years old, from non-OEM paint, from improperly cured paint, or from oxidized or chalked surfaces. If your car has been resprayed or the paint is aged, that is a real risk and we inspect for it before we wrap — which is the whole point of the free inspection.
Bring the car in and we lay the actual Avery film against your own paint in daylight. You compare gloss against satin against a ColorFlow until one is obviously right, and you leave with a written price for your exact vehicle and finish. No deposit to book it and no obligation.

Florida sits in Zone 1 on Avery Dennison's own United States zone map, which is the least aggressive zone. In Zone 1, SW900 black and white is rated 12 years on vertical panels, standard colors 10 years, metallic and pearlescent 5 years, ColorFlow and Extreme Textures 4 years, and the Diamond line and gold-flake metallics 3 years. Avery ties the warranty term to that durability figure. Abrasion and loss of gloss are excluded as normal wear.
Yes, and it drops sharply. Avery warrants vertical panels — doors, fenders, quarters — at the full published figure, and calculates roof, hood and trunk using the horizontal number. In Zone 1 that is 3 years on black and white, 2 years on standard colors and metallics, and 1 year on ColorFlow, Extreme Textures, Diamond and gold-flake colors. A gloss color rated 10 years on your doors is rated 2 years on your roof.
For a solid gloss, satin or matte color change, SW900 gives you more choice — 144 colors against 126 in our catalog — and a longer published vertical life, 10 to 12 years in Zone 1 against 3M's 8. For metallics, color-flip films and horizontal panels, 3M 2080 is stronger: one 8-year vertical warranty across the whole series where Avery drops to 5, 4 or 3 years, plus a clear protective layer on gloss colors during installation. We stock both and quote both.
Physically yes, and it makes washing much easier, especially on satin and matte. But be clear on the trade: Avery states that products containing petroleum distillates or solvents such as soaps, waxes or protective coatings void the film warranty, and 3M explicitly excludes ceramic coatings from its MCS warranty on 2080. We explain that before installation so the choice is yours, not a surprise.
No. The chrome films are Conform Chrome SF100 — a separate Avery product line with its own data sheet, its own installation behavior and its own pricing. We carry six Conform Chrome colors alongside the 144 SW900 colors, and we quote them separately because they are not the same film.
