How much does matte black wrapping cost?

Matte black is priced like any standard-color full wrap: by vehicle size, film brand and how much trim comes off. It sits at the base of the film price range in 3M 2080 and Avery SW900, so a matte black full wrap is among the most affordable color changes.

Where matte black sits

Standard matte and satin blacks in 3M 2080 and Avery SW900 are base-tier films. Inozetek satin black costs more per roll and delivers a deeper, more paint-like finish. Color-shift and textured films are the top tier. Matte black is therefore one of the more affordable full wraps for any given car.

What is the downside of wrapping a car?
It is not paint: five to seven years of life, no rock-chip protection, and it shows a careless install (seams, lifted edges, bubbles) more than paint ever would. It also needs paint in good condition underneath and hand or touchless washing. Full answer →
What is the average cost of a car wrap?
A full color change in branded film on a sedan or coupe runs into the low-to-mid thousands, and larger vehicles, chrome-effect and color-shift films, and disassembly-heavy cars cost more. We quote per car after seeing it, and you can preview the film on your own car first. Full answer →
How much should a full wrap cost?
Enough to pay for branded cast film, a full day or more of skilled labor with the trim off, and a bay that keeps dust out. For a sedan that is the low-to-mid thousands; for a large SUV in a premium film, more. A full wrap for the price of a paint job is a warning sign. Full answer →
Is matte black wrap worth it?
It is the most popular color change we do and it looks right on almost anything. The trade: matte cannot be polished, so it needs hand washing and quick removal of bird droppings, and it lasts five to seven years. For a keeper that lives on the highway, satin black PPF is the more durable version. Full answer →
