What a detail actually is
- Walkthrough inspection. What the paint and interior need, and what they can take.
- Fallout decontamination. Iron remover, tar remover, clay. This is what makes paint feel like glass again and it is what car washes never do.
- Safe wash and dry. Two buckets, clean towels, no brushes.
- Interior. Vacuum, steam, leather cleaned and conditioned, vents, console, glass.
- Protection. A sealant or coating top-up so the result lasts months, not days.
Why cheap details are cheap
They skip decontamination, use one bucket and one towel, and dress everything in silicone so it shines for a week. The swirls they add cost more to remove later than the detail saved.
