Why not vinyl
Brake calipers run well past the temperature at which vinyl adhesive lets go. Film applied to a caliper lifts, shrinks and discolors within weeks of normal driving. Plastic caliper covers clip over the caliper, trap heat and brake dust, and rattle.

Caliper color change from $280 for the set, standalone, or less when bundled with a coating or PPF install because the wheels are already off.
