Negatives of the product
- Does not stop rock chips or scratches from contact. Only film does.
- Seals in whatever is under it. Correction first or you live with the swirls.
- Costs more than wax, from $499, because two days of prep are included.
Negatives that are really the installer's
- High spots and streaks. Coating not leveled before it flashed. Has to be polished off and redone.
- "It stopped beading in months." Consumer coating, or a professional one applied without proper prep, or a car that goes through brush washes.
- Water spots that will not come off. Sprinkler minerals left to bake on an uncoated or poorly coated car. On a proper coating they wipe off.
- Sealed-in swirls. No correction under lights.
How to avoid the second list
Professional-only product, corrected paint, controlled bay, manufacturer warranty, hand or touchless washing. Ceramic Pro packages from $499, applied that way, with warranties from 2 years to lifetime.
