How do you take care of new window tint?

Leave the windows up for three to five days, expect a little haze while the film cures, and never use an ammonia cleaner on it. That is most of it.

If something looks wrong

A bubble that has not cleared after two weeks, a lifted edge, or a line of contamination under the film: bring it back. Installation issues show up early and are covered. Bring the car by rather than trying to fix it; pressing on a bubble tears the film.

How much is a windshield tint ticket in Florida?
Illegal tint in Florida is a non-moving violation. The fine is set by the county and usually runs around $100 to $130 with court costs, and officers can require the film to be removed. Windshield tint below the AS-1 line is illegal without a medical exemption. Full answer →
Is a 70% windshield tint worth it?
Yes, if it is ceramic. A 70% IR-rejecting film looks almost clear, is legal in most states above the AS-1 line and in many below it, and blocks the infrared heat that comes through the largest piece of glass on the car. In Florida, full-windshield tint needs a medical exemption. Full answer →
Is it worth it to tint your car?
In South Florida, yes, if it is ceramic. Tint blocks up to 99% of UV, cuts the heat that ages the interior and runs the AC, reduces glare, and adds privacy. Dyed film gives you the look and little else; ceramic gives you the comfort. Full answer →
What does VLT mean for window tint?
VLT is visible light transmission: the percentage of light that gets through the glass and film together. 35% VLT lets 35% of light through; 5% is the darkest "limo" tint. It is the number that decides how dark the tint looks and whether it is legal on each window. Full answer →
