What the warranty says
Tesla's new-vehicle warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. It does not exclude aftermarket cosmetic protection. Under U.S. law a manufacturer cannot void a warranty simply because an aftermarket product was installed; it would have to show that the product caused the specific failure.
What film cannot cause
Film sits on cured factory paint with a pressure-sensitive adhesive designed to come off clean. It does not affect the drivetrain, battery, electronics, cameras or sensors. We cut around sensors and the charge port door.
The one real risk
A careless removal, or film left far past its life, can pull clear coat on a repainted panel. That is an installer issue and it is why we check for non-factory paint before installing and remove film with heat, slowly, when the time comes.
Paint claims
Tesla paint claims are about defects in the paint itself, and they are hard to win once the car has been on the road. Film does not change that. What film changes is whether you ever need one: chips and swirls happen to the film, not the paint.
